Book: Never Name the Dead

Author: D.M. Rowell

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Mystery, Native American, Thriller, Literary Fiction

Format: Ebook

I really enjoyed this book. The author’s writing style feels like you are sitting and listening to stories by your elders.

There’s something about this book. The book is rich with Native American culture.

Mud is an interesting protagonist. Loved how she put everything together and got the murderer to own up in front of a room full of witnesses!!

Book: Cold as Hell

Author: Rhett C. Bruno & Jamie Castle

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Horror, Western, Fantasy, Supernatural

Format: Ebook

This book simply throws you right in the middle of action and there is no looking back.

A thrilling ride for sure! Crowley, our MC is a Black Badge. That’s like a supernatural agency with Angels as handlers. Interesting concept and it kept me engaged and entertained.

The ending is not what I expected. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

Hokuloa Road

📚📚 Review ðŸ“šðŸ“š

Book: Hokuloa Road

Author: ElizabethHand

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Thriller, Suspense, Fantasy, Supernatural

Format: Ebook

This was my first time reading the author and it most definitely wouldn’t be the last.

The book did start off slow but it gained momentum and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Mystery was pretty good, throw in a supernatural element and the story was elevated to another level.

It was spooky, oh yeah!! If you wasn’t something that’s easy to read with paranormal elements and Hawaiian mythology, this would be it!! Fantastic mix of folklore and suspense.

A Rip Through Time

Book: A Rip Through Time

Author: Kelley Armstrong

Publishing Date: May 31, 2022

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5

Genre: Thriller, Suspense, Historical

A modern-day homicide detective finds herself in Victorian Scotland, in an unfamiliar bod, with a killer on the loose.

The line above from the synopsis, covers what this book is about. I’ve read Kelley Armstrong’s paranormal and fantasy books, first time reading a suspense and she didn’t disappoint!!

The writing is clear and concise. At no point in the book, you are lost and that great be a of the timelines.

Detective Mallory is our MC. She’s in Scotland to look after her dying grandmother. Things take a turn when she wakes up in Catriona Mitchell’s body in 1869!! A fabulous mix of Sci-Fi and fantasy!!

Hot House

📚📚ARC Review ðŸ“šðŸ“š

Book: Hot House

Author: Lisa Towles

Publishing Date: June 15, 2022

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

Genre: Thriller, Suspense

This is the first time I have read this author and I can honestly say that I enjoyed her style of writing.

Hot House is the first book in the E&A Investigations series. I went in blind and was pleasantly surprised. The fact that this is a series and I’m going to keep reading about the fabulous cast of characters.

The mystery is solid. It teases with a bit of espionage and intelligence which in turn made it a great read!!

Mari and Derek are our two MCs and one is a LAPD detective (former) and Mari is not only a former CIA but also owns an art gallery.

The two were really good partners and had each other’s backs. Add in a great mix breed named Trevor, a Jack of all trades Buddhist Monk Duga and it’s pretty cool.

An absolutely solid 3.5⭐️ read for me!!

If you want to meet these characters, I suggest you grab a copy when this book is available.

Book: Carolina Moonset

Author: Matt Goldman

Publishing Date: May 31, 2022

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Thriller, Suspense, Family

This book was phenomenal!! Extremely well articulated and engaging!! It put me through the emotional ringer.

The suspense is so good. It’s a story of family and secrets. Let me tell you, those secrets were heartbreaking.

Joey Green is visiting his parents so his Mom could get a break from watching his father who’s sick. What a loving family the Green’s were!!

A prominent man in the community is murdered. The police suspect and hound Marshal Green, Joey’s 75 year old, sick Dad!!

How could it be that and aging, suffering from Lewy Body Dementia be a suspect?!!

To know the answer you gotta read this fantastic book!! My first book by Matt Goldman and he’s got a fan in me!!

Last Call at the Nightingale

📚📚ARC Review ðŸ“šðŸ“š

Book: Last Call at the Nightingale

Author: Katharine Schellman

Narrator: Sara Young

Publishing Date: June 7, 2022

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Thriller, Suspense, Historical Fiction

This was my first time reading the author. I was dropped straight into an underground dance club in 1924, New York.

We meet Vivian our FMC and Honor Huxley, the dance club owner and her friend, Bea!!

Vivian and her sister Flo were so good together. Grew up with nuns and they could kill for each other.

Vivian finds a dead man in an alley and things escalate from there. The mystery was okay and I could tell who did it. Still an interesting read!!

Good Night, Forever

📚📚ARC Review ðŸ“šðŸ“š

Book: Goodnight, Forever

Author: Jeffery Fleishman

Publishing Date: June 28, 2022

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Thriller, Suspense

To be very honest, this book is messed up and messes you up too.

Sam Carver is a Detective with LAPD. He’s a great cop but he almost crosses the line when it comes to Dylan Cross. A mentally unstable girl who’s also a killer. This story had continued from the 1st and 2nd books, I finally reached its conclusion.

The book is full of twists and turns of some that were predictable and some not.

It left a disquiet feeling after I finished reading.

Book: Watch Out For Her

Author: Samantha M. Bailey

Publishing Date: April 26, 2022

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Thriller, Suspense

What a thrilling, but a creepy read!! The mystery was fantastic and sad. Lies, secrets are in abundance.

The book is full of twists and turns that kept me turning the pages.

Sarah and Daniel Goldman, our protagonists and their lives are entwined with their babysitter, Holly,  who their young son Jacob adores.

So, what is the ominous warning for?!!

To find out, you gotta read it!! A truly thrilling, chilling and creepy book!!

Book: Unstable

Author: Alexandra Ivy

Publishing Date: April 26, 2022

What a thrilling read!! The mystery surrounding the gruesome murders was fantastic.

I love it when the crime makes you do a double take. Very well done!!

I enjoyed the romance as well. Grateful that it didn’t overshadow the suspense. Zac and Rachel get a second chance and it was pretty sweet.

Loved the small town of Pike with all its secrets and gossips. Made for an entertaining read!!

Alexandra Ivy is one fabulous author.

Mad For A Mate

📚📚ARC Review ðŸ“šðŸ“š

Book: Mad For a Mate

Author: MaryJanice Davidson

Publishing Date: April 26, 2022

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Paranormal Romance, Shifters

This was a super fun read. The mystery was good, albeit sad. In hindsight, I probably should have read the first two books in the series.

Will most definitely be reading them.

All the characters are great. Magnus especially. Verity, I didn’t much care for. She grew on me but she not one of my favourites by any means.

Her courage to get justice for her friend was good to see. I would have liked her to not be so self absorbed.

This book had lots of humour. Some really funny and some not so. Overall a fun easy read. The secondary characters are fantastic and you can’t help but want to know them and their stories.
